Mentoring  adolescent Youth Into Confident, Capable Leaders

SAGE was founded in 2018 to mentor adolescent girls from underserved communities in Raleigh. Every Thursday, our girls come together for study hall, workshops, and real talk on the things that matter most: mental health, body image, financial literacy, and career readiness.

We believe every girl deserves the chance to become the most confident, healthy version of herself. That happens through consistency, community, and mentors who show up week after week.

WHAT OUR GIRLS SAY

Sage provides us with a safe, nonjudgmental space for us girls to discuss our experiences and offer emotional and practical support to one another. Providing good learning and growth experiences, cultivating ongoing relationships with loving mentors, implementing life-enhancing programs and character development experiences, and, finally, encouraging hope and opportunity.

SAGE has really made a big impact on certain things in my life. The SAGE program has really helped me with my communication and social skills.I love this program because it is teaching me a lot while also having fun and meeting new people in the process. The SAGE program is also helping me find my self and figure out what I want to do in life. I am very thankful for the program and all of the opportunities.

SAGE to me is a very loving  loving and supportive place. It really shows how different people with different things, bring something new to the table and are able to create such a positive environment. It is very easy to get along with the girls at sage and resembles a family in certain aspects. I am glad that I am able to be apart of something like this.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

MacKenzie Took the Mic at TEDx

SAGE alumna MacKenzie Fennell took the stage as a speaker at TEDx Youth at ChavisWay, sharing what she learned about self-acceptance and standing up for her own individuality. This is what SAGE sets out to do: turn a girl who didn't know what she wanted to be into a young woman telling her story on her own terms.
