SAVING ADOLESCENT GIRLS EVERYWHERE
SAGE is a nonprofit that mentors adolescent girls in underserved Raleigh communities. We meet girls where they are and give them real tools to work through what they are facing, whether that is body image, teen pregnancy, domestic violence, or simply not knowing who to turn to.
Every girl deserves the chance to become the most confident, healthy version of herself. SAGE was built on three principles: social awareness, educational involvement, and career and professional development. Those principles guide everything we do.
Since 2018, SAGE has supported an average of 30 girls each school year through weekly mentorship, workshops, and hands on programs like our Business Program, where girls learn to launch their own small business. We also provide care packages, new mom support, and other resources for girls who need extra help along the way.
Our four year program currently serves high school girls ages 12 to 18 at select schools in the Raleigh area. We are always accepting volunteer applications to help us reach more girls and serve our community well.
OUR FOUNDER
TATIANA COOPER
Tatiana Cooper is a Chicago native who founded SAGE in 2018. She earned her degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina A&T and spent five years working in the field before she left her engineering career to build the organization she wished had existed for the girls she saw slipping through the cracks. Today she also teaches engineering and coaches volleyball at Patterson High School, where she is bringing the SAGE program to students this fall.
